I lost my very first duck I ever rescued today- Woodrow, the one who started it all. He was 12 years old and half blind, but still spry and spunky until he began a rapid decline a few weeks ago. Rest in peace, sweet Woodrow. A lot of ducks have been saved because of you. Love you always 🩷🦆

I befriended a pregnant stay cat who then birthed 5 kittens, so now I will have to find homes for 6 cats once they are old enough. 😭😭😭 Kittens are currently 2 weeks old

On Saturday, I dressed up in one of my fairy costumes, and we spent the day doing duck rescue outreach at an Easter event. I slept for 13 hours afterward... I'll take FGC players over enthusiastic 5-year-old fairy fans any day. Those kids wiped me out. 😭

This is why I love working as a cosplay judge! I enjoy helping put on an event much more than experiencing it as a patron. Plus, I've always been someone who needs something to do and focus on, so wandering aimlessly around cons just isn't enough for me these days.

I have been repeating myself all weekend about this but it's something I care a lot about! For those of us who have been going to cons a long time (I started at AX 05 so I'm 20 years DEEP), we eventually all hit a metaphorical wall where we question if this thing we've been doing is worth it.
