Does anyone following #mathstoday know of any national analysis from the past year that compares results from those students that studied both Functional Skills Maths AND English? Or has anyone got any individual school level analysis they might be willing to share?

OK. When a workplace brings December payday forward, 2 things. 1: Don't pay it on Xmas eve. Really doesn't help much. 2: Bring the Jan payday forward a week as well, before using shorter Feb to reset to normal. Paying on last working day of Jan (31st this year) after Dec hurts!

Unions - please stop getting drawn in to discussions on pay increase in terms of percentage rise. Talk in terms of actual money into pockets. The general public have a clearer feel for this. "2.8%" vs "£50/month". To most, that £ figure really doesn't sound like a huge amount more.

When interviewing for a new Head, how normal is it for gov body to a) not tell staff which 3 have been put through to 2nd day, b) interview 3 candidates with a 3+ hour gap between each one (9am, 12pm and 3.30pm), and c) tell staff that HT has been appointed, but they're not going to say who 🤷
