This can be a difficult and nuanced discussion, especially for people that are out of the tech loop. I try to break it down as AI = shit you've been using for over a decade. Predictive text. NPC enemy AI. Specialized machine learning. GenAI = shit built on stolen/scraped assets from the Internet

I think it’s good and important to spread the word about companies that are doing bad things and offer people alternatives to those companies that aren’t evil. I also think shouting “cancel that!” “Stop using that!” “Why are you still on that!” isn’t a great way to help ease people’s transitions.

I've been tracking hours spent on working on different tasks for a few months now. I'm increasingly convinced that the max high effort work I can pull off, as an autistic person with ADHD, per week is 25-30. 40+ just seems absolute overkill to me, and I've experienced enough burnouts in my life.
