Been yelling about glass so much, I figure I should share something… 4.5 inch round suncatcher mosaic on an acrylic base, using my scrap glass. Once I get the pieces glued down, I can then grout. The dark blue is one of my favorites and I need to find more of it.

Found a new stained glass class in my area and while I am 75% ready to sign up, but there is 25% of me like “remember what happened last time you tried to get involved in the art scene.”

I’ve had 3 days of upsetti stomach. I’m feeling better slowly but surely, now I’d like the brain fog/dizziness that came with the sickness to go away.

Today has also been a cruddy tummy day. I think though- I’m turning the corner because I have managed to eat. I’ll take toast, toast is good. Anything is good at this point.

Tum tum is still very angry and my attempt at toast + Gatorade this morning was immediately rejected. I’m now attempting flat cola, which so far tummy seems more amenable to. Sadly don’t have Irn Bru, which would be better.

Well today has been a challenge… Went from fine before breakfast, to full blown vertigo, upset stomach food poisoning like symptoms… And while I’m still light headed and woozy, I have got to get food in me and more electrolytes because I am teetering on a migraine.

Me: grinding glass, minding my own business. Eye: what if we be difficult Me: why is my eye acting like there’s something in it -panic- Me: -wearing eye protection and a mask, pauses… thinks- Eye: Lolololol Magnus hair! Me: -scream-

I gave Magnus a snuffle mat for the first time yesterday, and you may wonder why it’s taken me so long to give him that sort of enrichment because he’s a spaniel? Cause he has a history of chewing and trying to eat soft toys and felt things. We do other “find it” games and puzzles

I love my math rock time… but I am exhausted tonight, feel bad that I am exhausted and 90% of the current limelight is on my character and her backstory and mentally? I’m just not all there. :( :( :(

Ya’ll, I knew that there was waste with glass, I did not expect my current project to wipe out 2 sheets of green glass just like that.

This is the 3rd plow and gritter that has passed our street today - normally we’re snowed in for 2 days after a storm of this past weekend’s magnitude. I’m left wondering WHO in our neighborhood yelled loudly and angrily enough? We’re usually last on the route too. Not today.

Glass? Glass? My current issue is what I want to make, I don’t have the right colors to make it. I have adjacent colors, but not the right ones. And my brain is going “buy more…” GLASS IS EXPENSIVE.

The snow has finally stopped… We got somewhere from 18.6 to 25 inches. Based on Magnus, (who is 19.5 inches at the withers) I’d say we probably got 22. If he doesn’t do the springer spring in the yard? He can’t get around and the snow is over his shoulders. And we have some nasty drifts too

Magnus is like “WTF” 12 inches of snow so far (and still snowing), it’s up to his elbows. Gonna have to dig him a tunnel… He’s never experienced this much snow. He does not approve.

Wheeee it be COLD outside. Sunny (for now) but cold.

This is what was in the package I was waiting on. The unit was on sale, otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to do it. LOOK AT HOW PRETTY THE EDGES IF THE BLUE GLASS ARE. It will not prevent me cutting myself while working, but finished pieces will nice have smooth edges.

Looks increasingly likely I’m going to be snowed in this weekend. Woo.

Waiting for the darkness to see if we get auroras tonight… It’s brutally cold, but if it happens? I get to test the big fancy camera with it.

Work in progress using up a bunch of scrap and smaller bits of glass I have from the starter kit or things I’ve already made. Mosaic is fun.

Definitely picked up something somewhere…. My head is full and heavy today so it’s definitely sinus or a cold. Hell with the weather it could be my allergies are playing a part too. :(

Bought a pencil grip glass cutter because I wasn’t sure if my pistol grip cutter just needed a new head or if the grip is just not right for me. I made the most beautiful wave shaped cut in one long motion with the pencil grip one and it broke so clean with a single press of the running pliers…

Feeling very stressed and tired due to current goings on tonight… May have picked up something at the funeral. I have terrible drainage, a scratchy throat and am ready to claw out my eyes. I think I’ll need to make sure I take decongestants tonight. Urgh.

Little stained glass suncatcher mosaic I finished that I threw up in the window just to see what it looked like. The violet glass is crazy. It looks black in artificial light, but backlit? It kind of shifts between ultraviolet to eggplant. Fun little project and a grinder is now top of the list

Full disclosure: I admit to being the impatient one here. Ordered a thing from a small business- and on their website it said “shipping will take extra time since we are processing orders from when we were closed at the holidays.” Fully support said small business giving employees time off

I don’t know why, or what caused it, but my lower back is on the warpath this afternoon. Nerve pain zips and random twinges, numbness in leg and all that. I live with chronic pain from my back issues, but today is a bad pain day.

What did I do today? Oh I just sad/rage/spite cleaned my office, which has now turned from “clean up my cluttered desk and work area” to “deep clean the whole space and purge anything I don’t need/use.” This weekend has been a weird roller coaster of events and I’m kinda numb.

... should I finish this up and slap it on some stickers and other merch?

2026… really. Funeral to go to next week for a close family friend. Cancer can fuck off.

Urgh. Losing Joann’s means the only craft store in town is HL. The nearest alternative is 45 minutes away. I refuse.

Little sun catcher, before grout. Gotta wait for the glue to firm up and go clear before I do that. This the piece that made me go “yeah grinder sooner than later.” This wasn’t meant to be nice clean lines. Just an experiment.

The universe is laughing at me. The glass grinder that I want is on sale. Furthermore all the optional bits are on sale as well. The cost of it ALL is 20 dollars more than just the machine cost at it’s regular non-sale price. :( :(

I know I’m yelling into the void but I really wish glass manufacturers would offer pre-fired striker glass for stained glass work. Not all of us have or can afford a kiln and colors I want do not come fired. Pinks and Purples man… the striker glass has the best colors. But you need to fire it.

I’m having a blast with these mosaics. But I’m quickly realizing that I’m heading towards needing a glass grinder sooner than later. I’m that person who just likes to make things that are detailed and complicated and there is only so much you can do with cutters, pliers and nippers.

Slowly making headway on this mosaic, was hoping that I’d get it all glued down today, but the glass organization stuff arrived yesterday so I built that up instead. I need everything a bit less chaotic, especially since I start back at work tomorrow.

I woke up today to Political What the Fuckery. Fuck this Timeline.

Mom’s away to the orthopedic walk in this morn to get a ct/X-ray for her knee that just won’t behave. I’m down and out because I pulled a muscle in my side playing with Ruby and it’s my own damn fault because we were working on drop it with a tug toy, then I threw her ball and it went “NOPE.”

The eternal year is almost over…. It has been a year of emergency surgeries, broken bones, broken hearts, loss, stress, anxiety, job concerns due to tarrifs, and burnout. The good of this year? Magnus did not have a recurrence of Blasto. Ruby coming into our lives. Still have job Glass

Ordered some glass Monday morn knowing full well it’s a weird holiday week and probably wouldn’t see it ship till Friday at the earliest. It’ll supposedly be here tomorrow. I had a 25 dollar gift coupon which ultimately got me 2 pieces of glass I wouldn’t have otherwise sprung for.
