Very busy day at #CampChimera yesterday!!! We had a mud fight, licked some rocks in a cave, solved an unknown signal, and even went on an investigation adventure hike!!! I can't wait to see what the rest of the weekend brings!

Another friend I found on the prescribed burn! This massive Chinese Mantid was very active, but was kind enough to let me take a few great photos!

Found this little Eastern box turtle on yesterday's prescribed burn operation! His shell was a little scorched, but he seemed otherwise unharmed. The cool thing about these turtles is their ability to "close" themselves inside their shell to protect against predators! (Or Fire!)
