Howdy everyone! Applications for our 2026 Artist Alley are now live! Log on to our registration portal at reg.scotiacon.org.uk where you will find the new application form available for you to complete. Make sure you complete this by October 13th to be considered for a spot!

Our team will review applications after October 13th to ensure a wide range of vendors in the Alley. We'll let applicants know if they are successful a few days after the 13th. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact our team at the address below for help.

The Artist Alley is a great option for those who perhaps haven't dealt at a convention before or only have a limited display. You'll be allocated a day slot at a table and you can stay as long as you like within the Alley opening hours.

Hey folks! Applications for Artist Alley tables will open on October 6th! Our Artist Alley is aimed at dealers with smaller displays or those who only wish to take commissions and then leave their table. You can stay for as much or as little of the Artist Alley slot as you wish.

Q: When do I pay for my table? A: At the same time as you pay for your convention registration. Please note that you must have a convention registration to be a dealer in our Den. If you accept a table but do not pay for a convention registration, your table will be forfeit.

Hi folks! Our Dealers' Den aims to open applications early so we can let dealers know whether or not they have a table before they commit to registering. With that in mind, we're happy to announce Den applications open on 7th July at 7pm UK time!

Q: I have other questions, where can I find support? A: Please email the Den team at the address below and we will assist you as best we can.

Q: What if I have a license for a copyrighted character or IP? A: If you have a license to utilise copyrighted characters or IP in your work then these can be sold, subject to the license being available for inspection and verification by Scotiacon staff.

Q: How will this policy be enforced? A: We will review tables in the Den throughout the operation of the Den to ensure that copyrighted materials are not being sold.

Q: What is the potential penalty to Scotiacon? A: If reported and convicted of secondary copyright infringement, Scotiacon could be subject to unlimited fines and its staff subject to imprisonment.

Q: Does the risk not belong to the dealers selling copyrighted works? A: The dealers do carry the risk of the primary infringement. However, the Den is a convention-supplied space and therefore Scotiacon also bears the risk of secondary infringement.

Q: What is prohibited from sale? A: Any works or commissions that involve copyrighted characters or intellectual properties that have not been appropriately licensed.

We trust that our dealers and attendees will understand why we have had to take this action. We realise there will be questions about this announcement and have prepared the following Q&A to try and answer some of them.

The potential penalty for this would put Scotiacon itself at risk. Faced with a plausible scenario in which the convention would no longer be able to operate, we have taken this decision to safeguard Scotiacon for everyone.

We realise that this will affect some of our dealers and sympathise with the impact this will have. However, UK law is clear that, by making Den space available, Scotiacon is liable for secondary copyright infringement if we allow sale of copyrighted materials within that space.

Q: What if I am not sure whether or not a given item is infringing? A: Please email the Den team with details at the address below and we will advise whether or not a given item will be allowable.

Hi folks! We wanted to make you aware of a change to our Dealers' Den which will affect dealers for the 2026 event. Due to advice we have taken about UK copyright law we have taken the decision to prohibit the sale of work involving copyrighted characters & intellectual property.

This year's Dealers' Den map is now live, we are so proud to have such a wide range of crafters and artists on show!

Please note! If you are not yet registered to attend and only intend to if you secure an Alley table you do not need to register in order to apply for a table in the Alley! If you register, not getting an Alley table will not be accepted as grounds for a refund.

Applications must be submitted by October 11th and we will respond to tell you if you are successful by October 19th. As a reminder, tables cost £20, all of which will go to our charity. This payment will be taken at the convention, there is no facility to pay in advance.
