Today we mark 174 years since the Denny Party landed at #Alki, The land’s beauty came from generations of care by the Duwamish. Settlers survived only with Duwamish support, then pushed them out. As we enter November, reflect on this history and seek ways to honor the #Duwamish community today.

Today marks the 170th anniversary of the signing of the #TreatyofPointElliott in 1855, and still the United States government has yet to honor their promises by federally recognizing the #Duwamish Tribe. Chief Si'ahl (Seattle) is the first signature on the #PointElliottTreaty.
