This thread's breaking containment so to sum up: There have always been players who view any challenge to their notion of (their) WOL's power and agency as bad writing at best and harmful at worst. Unfortunately these players tend to be the most vocal about MSQ.

I miss the years when people chose to snore at Urianger's speech or were heavily confused, and laughed at how often the phrase "Confound it!" and the word "succor" were used, instead of how hand-holding some of the writing has become because the comm could never be satisfied

lrp - that's because sometimes the comm really does have a nasty habit of being: "oh but not like THAT" when they get something they've been wishing for/most cases demanding for. instead of learning how to take the L and riding the wave and adjusting. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Gotta say: I've seen that "I wish WOL would get hurt more" post many times this week, and every time I vividly recall the mid-Heavensward backlash over WOL getting hurt "too much." Especially the posts/vids/"discussions" about how WOL getting drugged was uniquely "unsafe" for marginalized players.
