growing up, if it was already 8, 9 10 pm (and onwards), we were already in our respective rooms for bedtime and would lock our doors, and *never* open them, no matter who knocked. so it *baffles* me why ANYONE staying at a hotel would open their door without peeking through the door viewer first.
