#CONTINENTS project, exploring energy efficient #hpc, ran a mini symposium at #pasc26 about the role of #AI in #HPC. Speakers from EPCC, NCAR and the Met Office described their activities and, more widely, the ethical and sustainability concerns.

Daniyal Arshad presents work at the #riscv for #hpc workshop on exploring spectral element methods on the #tenstorrent Tensix accelerator with the Nekbone miniapp. This was undertaken as part of the HPC-R project which looked at alternative architectures for #cfd.

Kara Moraw's poster presented at #ISC26 today describes leveraging AI to apply carbon reducing techniques in weather forecasting models. This work was undertaken as part of the #CONTINENTS project.

Our team share their expertise in many different ways and one of these is by assisting on training courses as well as running their own training. This time they helped out the team from @epcc.bsky.social who were running a local intermediate software training course at Manchester.
