Thinking about Ghost Trick. I love it for many of the same reasons I love command-select ADVs: context-sensitive puzzles, asking you to consider how the effects of the few things you're able to do can change depending on what's going on in a scene. Also Missile is my best friend.

A lot has changed since we started developing our game over 3 years ago... Nintendo made a new Famicom Detective Club. Every Ace Attorney game is now in English. Another Code was revived, fueling desire for Kyle Hyde remakes. People want ADV games, and we want to make them 👍 #gamedev #indiegame

Most of my fondest memories with adventure games involve sitting with my DS or Switch on cold fall/winter nights under a nice, warm blanket. Which is why I'm so glad we're releasing in November 🍂 I'm looking forward to playing our game that way soon, and we hope you are too!

Finally played through Dear me, I was... and absolutely loved it. Makes use of some light adventure game mechanics to punctuate a very moving story about an ordinary life, with stunning art direction from Taisuke Kanasaki (Hotel Dusk, etc). Inspires me to want to learn to draw more than ever 😭

One neat thing I haven't seen many talk about with Dear me, I was... is that apparently the whole game is textless, it's not just this trailer. That's pretty bold, and a great fit for the rotoscoped art style. Can't wait to see more of it.

Slowly getting through Fantasian: Neo Dimension, which flew under the radar last year and deserves much more attention. One of the best BG art styles ever, and it has a great sense of humor in its design that only could have come from Sakaguchi. Truly puts me in my happy place ☺️

Another recent game I didn't mention - the remake of Yuji Horii's Okhotsk Disappearance, which came out shortly after Emio last year and is lovely. Very faithful to the Famicom version's design, and also has an interesting "sequel" story. I hope its full OST is released someday.
