Caught a feral black cat and brought him (I'm assuming) to the Humane Society. No pictures unfortunately as he either bit at or clawed at the trap walls that he got blood all over, including on the boxes the trap was on for some extra insulation overnight.

On a non-doomer note, the set up i built in my back garden to help protect stray cats from freezing temperatures worked beautifully. I mean, there are a fuck ton of cats out there, but they're staying warm, fed, and hydrated. So, win!

There's been another young grey cat slowly moving onto our property. I found out today that it's a female that's in heat, as she was being hounded by two males. The female looked young enough to only be 8-9 months old.

A former work client recently got overrun with feral cats. Some moved onto her property, which lead to some males making themselves at home there as well. She's quickly becoming overrun with cats and doesn't know what to do about it. ->

Holy shit I'm tired and my back hurts. 🙃 Ran out of room for cats today. We do everything we can to avoid actual full moratoriums, so that means a lot of physical work moving cats around and a lot of mental/emotional work asking people with healthy strays to at least hold them overnight.

Update: We were unable to catch any of the kittens as a pregnant stray dog went and started trying to get into the trap to get the food. However, I think at least one of the kittens is still on our property as we can sometimes hear it mewing. Hopefully with regular feeding, we can catch 'em soon

Another cat had kittens on our property. This time under our toolshed. I'm pretty sure mom bounced once the kittens were weaned since we haven't seen her around at all. I called the localish branch of Humane Colorado to see if they would be able to do intake tomorrow.

Been busy, so I haven't updated the feral kitten saga. We finally caught mom, who is still a kitten herself. At least 8-10 months old, but definitely no older than a year. She was the only one that made it to the humane society, and will be adopted as a barn cat when ready.

Caught the three kittens tonight! Unfortunately the fourth was the runt of the litter and didn't make it. One of my coworkers wants one, and the other two will be taken to the local humane society. If I can catch mom, she will also be taken in as well

Appointment made at the local humane society to take at least two of the kittens. The lady I spoke with said that if we can catch mom and the other more feral kitten, I was welcome to take them in as well. Tomorrow, we're going to get the large dog transport cage set up for the two ->

Unfortunately, the rescue and fostering place couldn't help me out. I'm debating on seeing if there's a closer rescue and fostering place as well as contact the local humane society

I called a dedicated cat rescue and fostering place to see if they know of any dedicated cat fosters closer to my area since I want to take at least the two more tolerant kittens to a foster home for more socializing rather than the local humane society. We'll see what happens

Three of the four kittens that illusive mama had. The one on the left is more scared compared to the other two. The middle and right kittens have let us handle them, and have started following me when it's feeding time.
