i joined the Austin Photo Walkers for a stroll around downtown. it's a social meetup and free exploration, rather than an organized tour. this group has a nice focus on documenting the city and its changes, and there was plenty to see on alleys and side streets.

the wild persimmon* jam is a success! the color, flavor, and set are all good. it's not a clear winner, though, as it's a little grainy and there's still a whisper of astringency on the back end. i think i can improve on it... * these are not "Texas" wild persimmons, but probably "American".
