I always struggle with acrylics. But I saw a painting with just tree trunks in a restaurant and thought to myself: That looks manageable. Being me I had to depict real tree, species of course. And add an owl. Owls make everything nicer. 🦉 #ArtAdventcalendar

I got some Derwent Inktense pencils and they are fascinating. Intense color, of course, with very little pencilling effort. But once it's dried it just stays where it is no matter how much water you add.
