As it was Topper Headon’s birthday yesterday, it’s always good to be reminded of his fantastic version of Gene Krupa’s 1936 signature tune “Drummin’ Man” . Gene Krupa was my Dad’s favourite drummer and “Drummin’ man “ was his favourite that inspired him to pick up the sticks. That’s kinda cosmic.

36 years ago today. 27th May 1990..not the greatest gig I went too,but now strangely iconic. Over romanticised by many , and probably the most famous “bad” gig I’ve attended. Paul Oakenfold,Jam MC’s and Frankie Bones kept the crowd moving though.

30 years ago today, just to make me feel even older. Quite the day/night, long before the wheels came off. Love them or loathe them, there was an atmosphere so electric it could have powered Maine Road itself. Not bad for £17:50 for a ticket. Now then, where did those 30 years go? 😅
