#TonightsMovie "The Creatures" (1966) I picked another "what is real?" movie quite by chance. Thriller/fantasy, which reminded me a smidge of "The Prisoner". Featuring a beautiful, but effectively mute, Catherine Deneuve (spoiler - I was convinced her character was imaginary until the final scene).

Remember when experts were listened to, fascism was bad and kindness wasn't frowned upon? Seems like forever.

#TonightsMovie "The Perfume of the Lady in Black" (1974) Sort of #giallo, with a psychological thriller element to boot. Absolutely crazy ending, but seen through the lens of a descent into madness makes more sense. Stunning to look at too.

#TonightsMovie "Wag The Dog" (1997) Excellent political "satire" that seems almost tame nowadays.

#TonightsMovie "Powaqqatsi" (1988) A pale sequel to it's seminal older sibling, still enjoyable however.

#TonightsMovie "Village Of The Damned" (1960) Solid Brit Sci-Fi with a cast of Brit stalwarts*. Very short, but well made despite an obviously tight budget.

#TonightsMovie "The Unknown Man of Shandigor" (1967) Bizarre cold war "thriller" with a hint of spy fi and a dash of nouvelle vague. Beautiful black and white cinematography.

Farewell to the actor John Woodbine who died today. He was ubiquitous in the film and TV of my childhood appearing in everything from Z Cars, Dr Who and the films The Devils and An American Werewolf in London.
