#TonightsMovie "Blade Runner" (1982) White Dragon Cut 5. Adds nearly an hour to the movie. Whilst technically interesting , it's little more than a curates egg. The cut scenes don't really add anything, and ruin the pacing. Retains and even expands the voice over, interesting decision!

Just watched "The Nightmare Man" (1981) Excellent four part folk horror/sci-fi. Wonderful locations, humour and a sense of dread, well written and acted featuring a beautiful Celia Imrie, doing a rather impressive accent.

#TonightsMovie "Requiem for a Village" (1975) I was so tired today that I feel as though I dreamt watching this. Bucolic, not quite folk horror, but very evocative and even chilling in places. #BFI

#TonightsMovie "Stand By Me" (1986) In an actual cinema (film is one of my Daughters favourites). Still hilarious, still has a lot of important things to say. Somehow I'd forgotten how good River Phoenix was in this.

#TonightsMovie "Tales That Witness Madness" (1973) Interesting but not essential portmanteau, horror adjacent.

#TonightsMovie "Footprints on the Moon" (1975) Not your typical #Giallo but full of existential dread and unspoken desires and motives. Also photographed beautifully.

#TonightsMovie "Project Hail Mary" (2026) Nice to have high stakes resolved by something other than punching for a change. Ryan Goslings natural charm does a lot of heavy lifting, but it's worth your time.

#TonightsMovie "Torture Garden" (1967) Excellent #Amicus portmanteau movie, (though not quite as good as there later efforts) with the cast chewing the scenery like there lives depended on it. Written by Robert Bloch!

‪ #TonightsMovie "Schalcken the Painter" (1979) gloriously evocative and wonderfully spooky BBC ghost story. Every scene, intentionally I'd presume, looks like a painting.

Haven't ripped a DVD in quite a while, but realised this (essential item) was missing from my "British Uncanny" Plex collection. #BFI #PhysicalMedia
