There are times when you must speak, not because you are going to change the opposing side, but because if you do not speak, they have changed you.

Watching the news out of the USA, I keep asking myself "what's the red line?" Or is there no red line?

The phrase "high expectations" has come to be a point of sadness. It is meant to refer to the teachers' belief that a student can always learn and grow to a high standard, and then support that growth. It has come to mean teachers making exacting demands of students and blaming them for failure.
