There's actually one in Inkscape! Under "Live Path Effects", you can search for "Mirror symmetry", and it will do that for any path or shape you have selected 🙂

A patron recently came to Gum Spring's Makerspace to personalize an apron for her mother-in-law's birthday. She used Inkscape's software to convert all the grandkids' handwritten names into an embroidery file. Then, she used the embroidery machine to finish this unique and meaningful gift.

an open source tool that I think has undergone a similar glow-up to Blender/Godot is Inkscape. I remember using this like over a decade ago and it was ass, but now it's awesome
