i did my first podcast!! i got to talk with the inimitable stephen satterfield about the piece i wrote for whetstone about decolonizing korean food — thank you for having me on the show, and, wow, i hope i didn’t ramble too much!

i love drama PPL; i find so much joy in how we’ll be in a dramatic moment but NESPRESSO or SUBWAY or GINSENG!!! (i ate subway three times in daegu bc of drama PPL, and it is quite good, better than what we get in the US, but subway breakfast is meh, has too much sauce.)

wow i miss korea. i miss pyeonejeoms & seoul ooyoo & cafes. i miss there being no gaps in the bathroom doors & the freeway dividers being high enough that you aren’t blinded by the cars on the other side & public bathrooms being abundant & clean. i even miss the three voices in my car navi. ☹️☹️☹️

moono is a welcome addition to the nyc korean dining scene. i can def see myself dropping in frequently to eat naengmyeon (평!양!냉!면!) and jeon, and i love how everything about the restaurant just leans into koreanness in such warm, comforting ways. 💜
