What can go unnoticed when politicians are outed for the typical hypocritical line "I'm pro-labor, except here" is the real cruelty that position brings. A man was harassed then fired for bringing his kid into work, and taking an approved vacation which Smith initially promised as a paid holiday.

NEW: Portland Councilor Loretta Smith allegedly fired a staffer for union organizing. An unfair labor practice complaint, filed today, claims Smith showed increasingly hostile behavior to the worker following the union announcement, culminating in his termination last week.

My concern about Yang Hansen as a long term player is that with Clingan (another other young, slow big) you at least immediately saw he had a plus skill in rim protection/rebounding. With Yang he doesnāt really do anything even above average for his position.

This is classic "yellow union" speak from Portland Patrol Inc. Owner William Guidice. He opposes workers choosing their own union, but says he supports "self unionizing." What he wants is a union run by the boss, so PPI can look better in grant bids without offering any better conditions or pay.

NSLU won a $19/hr starting wage for clerks, a massive win in the local grocery industry. Fred Meyer starts at around $17 & non-union New Seasons are at $18 (tho we will see if the company raises those stores). The two sides were FAR away on economics as late as Dec 4. The power of a strike threat.
