The front doors of the casino close and a figure steps within, clad in a skull mask and with all dark clothes. They turn and look toward @atlanticcityreject.bsky.social, lenses hiding the color of their eyes behind the mask. Their gear is rugged. Weathered. They have a compound bow on their back.

They had their walls and their mechanical scorpion. Food and shelter. They had everything they wanted.

Amidst the ash choking the sky, they restrung their bow, their gaze resting on a lone figure traveling through the sand.

Time to search for easier prey.

Another bloodless night.

They pull the dagger out and level it. Their grip is sure and their stance is set. They motion for the other to turn around and walk back.

Each step closer and a knife slides a little more out of a sheath at their side. The knife consisted of three blades, intertwined to form a single point - a jagdkommando, meant to stab the victim in a way that prevented it from being easily treated, and capable of punching through kevlar.

They can sense the blonde one's gaze. They remember their last brief encounter. Circling a settlement like vultures, but she went to help and they did not.

The skull mask and white lenses ensure that there is nothing of the identity beneath the mask to see. They do not smile, only hold their gaze, and they would do so until something else distracted them or the other looked away.

Watching the watcher, unsure if she is watching the watched while watching.

The gaze boring through the skull mask was incessant, as if by it alone they could bore through their head.

Watching them watch the settlement from a distance. Silently.
