Our Veterans Day celebrations continued in La Habra, where Robin and I joined the community for the city’s annual Veterans Day event.

We kicked off Veterans Day by joining the City of Buena Park for their Veterans Honor Luncheon and Resource Fair. This annual event lifts up the local heroes in our own community, including Crescent Little League’s own Gunnery Sergeant Marco Velarde, Jr.

Thank you to the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce for inviting me to this year’s State of the City. It was inspiring to hear about the progress Santa Ana has made, and I look forward to the work and opportunities ahead.

Congratulations to the City of Santa Ana on breaking ground on the city’s first dog park. Slated to open in March 2026, the new Centennial Park space will soon be a go-to spot for dog owners across the community. Thank you to the advocates who made this possible!

We’ve wrapped up this year’s legislative session, sending 17 bills to the Governor’s desk — 2 already signed. These bills strengthen CARE Court, support wildfire victims against price gouging, expand public campaign financing across CA, help safeguard our democracy and more.

Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost, honor the bravery of first responders, and reflect on a nation forever changed. Though 24 years have passed, we carry the memory of 9/11 with us, and we will never forget.

I am horrified by today’s shooting of Charlie Kirk. Political violence has no place in our democracy. My thoughts and prayers are with Charlie and his family during this difficult time.
