A story of vandalism with a happy ending for #FossilFriday A couple of years ago, a sandstone boulder preserving dinosaur tracks in Price Canyon was graffitied. This boulder had fallen out of a nearby cliff and was placed at a popular pullout in the canyon by Utah DOT prior to the vandalism.

FINAL DAY to support our lab renovation fundraiser! The paleo program at the Prehistoric Museum provides an opportunity for everyone including USU students, 4-H kids, and other members of the community to get involved in science. 1/2

Today is the last #FossilFriday of our fundraising campaign for the paleo prep lab! So far, over 1/2 of donations have come from outside of Utah, showing the reach of our science and education. We’re less than $2000 away from funding our first phase of renovations, so donations of any size can help!

An underrated #paleontology exhibit in our museum is the giant clam Platyceramus! These bivalves lived at the bottom of the seaway during the Cretaceous. In Utah you can find them in the Mancos Shale along with other marine invertebrate fossils northwest of the town of Green River. #FossilFriday
