It’s been one of the real pleasures of my job at Senate House Library to dig into the archive of UoL’s relationship with universities like UWI set up just before decolonisation - and to have the opportunity to put on this temporary display about it!

150 years ago today, Charles Kingsley - clergyman, historian, social reformer, novelist, & University of London graduate - passed away 📚 Senate House Library proudly holds first editions of his works, including The Water-Babies (1863), perhaps his most enduring.

Prof. Philip Murphy delivered a brilliantly insightful lecture, Time Come? Caribbean Decolonisation and the Monarchy, last night.
