Just. Words. Inspiring words.
Grizz are down, but Jaren got a few reps as a screener. Was nice to see that happen a couple times.

Cam Spencer getting the start at PG with Morant suspended. Could have gone with Small or Vince. Not a clear-cut choice there. I suspect both the others may play off the bench.

What an absolutely awful close out foul by Jaren. He has Ingram taking the worst shot in basketball and he just canât help himself.

My personal opinion (all it is) is that Frank deserves *some* small amount of credit for the over-performance relative to the underlying numbers. Results are results! But the PL has definitely figured out Spurs and what they're trying to do. They need to figure out a plan B.

Herrington: After Ja Morantâs âquiet-quittingâ and postgame display, whatâs next for him and the Grizzlies?
The Memphis Grizzlies and Ja Morant were both off to a decent start to the season. Then, on Friday night, things got unexpectedly messy. What was that about, and whatâs next?

I know Spurs are missing a ton of guys, I know you donât want to take low xG shots from distance, I know you want to play low event ball where you preserve your guysâ legs and keep variance down and play for set pieces, but thereâs got to be a plan to get open play balls besides *this*.

Ja Morantâs play was so listless on Friday, coming off such a strong prior game, that I thought he must have been battling illness. âIâm fine,â he said. So what was wrong? Morant had one repeated response: âGo ask the coaching staff.â

Frustrated Ja Morant takes aim at coaches after loss
What went wrong for Ja Morant in a Friday night loss to the L.A. Lakers? "Go ask the coaching staff," said Morant, in a frustrated reference to post-game discussions.

A visibly annoyed Ja Morant said âGo ask the coaching staffâ when asked about what went wrong for him tonight. Asked what the team could have done better, he said âaccording to them, probably donât play me,â apparently alluding to something that had been said in the locker room after the game.

Alright. This is the good shit. Five out. Multiple DHO opportunities. Clean paint. Leads to a low EV shot that is nonetheless wide open.

With the news that Romero and Destiny are fit for Chelsea, I wonder if we get a back five or some other unexpected tweak that messes with Chelsea's possession game. Last time we saw it in full was vs PSG, but they've been experimenting with a fullback playing more reserved lately (usually Porro).

I was wondering if we see a one game tweak to the starting lineup and insert Coward or Santi in for Landale vs the tiny suns. Cedric Coward can guard Royce O'Neale. PHX is 27th in the NBA at taking shots at the rim, but 6th in short midrange, which might mean a couple miscategorizations of layups.

Feel like all of Tell, Odobert, Sarr and Bergvall should play, and Kudus rests. Hope Kinsky plays, and at least one other random youth gets mins.

The timing matters so much about who knew what, and when, for all of the Terry Rozier gambling stuff. Because there is a world where the FBI is investigating Rozier, when the Heat engage in trade talks, and have told the Hornets they cannot disclose anything.

I wouldn't argue that SINNERS was better than DUNE or MAD MAX or JOHN WICK or pick another big action movie from the last 10 years. But I loved it much more than those movies, which feel more like chaotic spectacles to look at than coherent movies.

My Laymanâs non-stats take is that set pieces are prob more sustainable rn. You can generate a corner much easier than a cut back pass on the ground into space. And defending corners seems to be a âdo you have big boys or notâ thing. And if you donât, it takes transfer windows to get those guys.

Would be hard to beat VDV for man of the match, but Richy has submitted a masterclass of a striker doing all the little stuff while up two goals. Massive in pressing, massive defending set pieces, provides an outlet the few times we break, and assists the third goal.

RKM running into the channels is the way to get him the ball. Just need another body for him to lay off to, and then another two bodies to crash into the box, unless he can just get a corner out of it so we can score off a set piece yes just like that.

A little 3-4-3-ish. Porro pretty reserved so far and Johnson wingback-ish.

There are many possessions that Cedric Coward is the lone Grizzly to crash the boards (particularly when the big is elevated), and if he doesnât get the ball he just picks up whoever grabbed the rebound to stop the ball from breaking up court.

Well that changes super quickly. Cowardâs just ripping the ball up the court. Casually just bodied a power forward under the basket.

I think my main issue with Iisalo so far is that when Ja goes out the game we are signing up to watching Javon Small dribble for 10 seconds way too many possessions.
