Today, the Chancellor announced some brilliant new initiatives to deliver a renewed economy for a renewed Britain. This Labour government will put an end to long-term youth unemployment, deliver a library in every primary school in England, roll out the Youth Experience Scheme and much more.

It was great visiting Basingstoke Academy of Dancing last Saturday! It was fantastic to watch some brilliant students in action and hear about the wide range of ages and abilities taking part. We also spoke about the many mental and physical benefits of dance, and the challenges the school faces.

All the best to the Red Roses this afternoon against Canada – it's been a brilliant tournament with games played in 8 English cities We're all behind you!

Breakfast with the PM this morning alongside colleagues. We chatted about the big issues people in Basingstoke raise with me daily. The NHS, cost of living, and stopping illegal immigration. Labour will bring the patriotic renewal our country needs, built on inclusion, tolerance, and hope.

A Palestinian state, alongside a safe and secure Israel, is the only real hope for peace. We must revive the hope for a two state solution. I’m immensely proud of our government and Prime Minister in taking this decision today.

Great to join Natural Basingstoke in Black Dam today for the climate lobby. 🌲 We spoke about the Lodden, protecting nature & biodiversity, and delivering new homes. And I got to spend some time enjoying Basingstoke's natural beauty in the sunshine! 🌞 Thanks to all who came out!

Really enjoyed chatting to the Wine and Spirits Trade Association team during their visit to Parliament. The WSPA have some brilliant members in Basingstoke including the Berry Brothers, Rudd, Liberty Wines and Majestic. Was good to hear more about how myself and MPs can support their industry.

Great to visit Basingstoke Hospital on Friday. The new MRI and CT scanners are already making a real difference, with 30 scans completed that day. Thanks to investment from this Labour Government, the pathology centre now handles around a million tests each month, leading the way on faster results

I had a brilliant time with pupils and teachers at St Bede's Primary School on Friday. I was especially delighted to meet the Head Boy and Girl, and the School Council, discussing what I can do to make Basingstoke better, before catching up with senior leadership.
