Ok, I've finally worked out what my New Year's resolution is going to be. I'm going to leave more reviews for good, small, independent businesses I've used... oh, and I may try and eat a little less from Chic O Land. Simple.

Today, I've been pulling together some info & old e-mails about the building of Chester Market for a student doing a dissertation on the effects of gentrification. Looking through all the comms & seeing how traders were treated, misled & generally bullied is heartbreaking. Glad to be out of it.😢

Day 3 of our jollies: To hot tub or not to hot tub... that is the question. Last night's Eric Bordelet + hot tub action turned me into a big, snoring blob on the sofa.

I should be trying to be good, but I have a rare Fri evening off so I got cooking... a BIG-ass steak, macaroni cheese, Bear Bakery sourdough shrapnel with chorizo & parmesan, some charred green veg & some pickled cabbage that I made on Christmas day. ...and now I need to sleeeeeeep.

The more I learn about coffee, the more I see parallels with beer, cider & wine. Why the hell do I throw myself down these damn rabbit holes???

It's going to be an absolute banger this weekend!

I really need to get on with some DIY whilst I have some good, bright daylight hours off... but it's cold and I really cannot be arsed.

They are out on the streets of Chester... hordes of people who appear to have never stepped foot in a bar before! ...and so begins my Christmas dread.
