Today a student asked how I deal with my anxiety about the world and daily life. We talked about little things we can do that make us feel human. It was a wonderful chat, ending with goals to craft more whimsy into our lives. That is one goal that makes me smile.

For a girl who grew up in an urban sprawl, there is something extra awesome to hearing an owl hooting as I'm reading before bed.

I've been waiting to start reading this fabulous book until the end of the semester. In a brewery waiting for a friend seemed like a perfect time.

Your tour guide points out the serpopard and states that it dates to the late medieval period... And you excitedly share the Narmer Palette and ancient Egyptian depictions of serpopards... Complete with images on your phone... Then realize you've derailed her tour and this isn't your lecture hall.
