Republicans cut Democrats entirely out of their process for the CR, didn't want any of our input, and would have been blamed by a majority of the American public for a government shutdown. There was no reason to cave to them. Chuck Schumer has to go.

I was married to a DoD employee for 26 years. There were several shutdowns in that time. My ex was always paid for these shutdowns, even though he had the time off. But he was never not paid. How do other departments handle shutdowns?
