📣 New preprint by a stellar team 🤩 I’m most excited by “phase III” in the alignment time course, which is best captured by mid-layers of temporally integrating video models! While we do not directly compare with image-EEG (yet - will do so in the #VIDI) I suspect this is unique to video vision 🎥🔥

Very excited by our first benchmarking results on BMD by the talented @sargechris.bsky.social! By including control models trained on Kinetics that deal trivially with time (i.e. treating videos as image sequences), we find better brain alignment scores for actual video models in early visual areas!

After a great conference in Boston, CCN is going to take place in Amsterdam in 2025! To help the exchange of ideas between #neuroscience, cognitive science, and #AI, CCN will for the first time have full length paper submissions (alongside the established 2 pagers)! Info below👇 #NeuroAI #CompNeuro

Our review on scene perception is now freely available in the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Neuroscience! doi.org/10.1093/acre... We discuss object-, space- and affordance-based scene representations and behavioral, fMRI and M/EEG evidence for their presence in the human brain (plus DNNs)!

What is representational alignment? How can we use it to study or improve intelligent systems? What challenges might we face? In a new paper (arxiv.org/abs/2310.13018 ), we describe a framework that attempts to unify ideas from cognitive science, neuroscience and AI to address these questions. 1/2
