Reading is done; there’s a couple pieces in the shortlist to go through and we have to finalize a cover but then we’ll announce the ToC!!

Our third issue is heating up with Chris’ work!!

Just dropped off some copies at Haunted Burrow Books in Capitol Hill, Seattle for their grand opening on Friday! It’s our first time having our stuff stocked anywhere, and it really has my heart racing.

We’ve accepted 19 poems, 14 flash pieces, and 2 CNF (something new to Vol. III) so far! This book is going to be quite a tad bigger than previous issues which is super exciting.

It’s a good thing this pride month that everyone in the LGBTQIA+ is hot enough to melt ice.

We’ve been accepting some heat, and we may have to turn this call into Vol. IV too 😂

Responses are continuing to roll out, so keep an eye on which way the needle points!

AH it roams!

From over 1000 new bones in the pile, we received nearly 200 CNF, over 800 fiction, and over 3000 poems from 55+ countries!! What an amazing third open call. Now, we (continue to) read.

The fates pulled some strings and submissions are still open but you better send stuff now!

The meteor that was meant to close our submission period was mis-calculated and you all have another 48 HOURS to send us fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and cover art for consideration in Vol. III!

It’s the final day for the chance to be a contributor for Exposed Bone Vol. III so quit procrastinating and send us your stuff!

Sometimes I’ll daydream about some poems or short stories I’ve read and I’ll think about where I read them and BAM it hits me that we published them! Read our back catalog, submit your work TODAY (or tomorrow) before our sub call ends, and live rent free in my head!

As fancy as it would be to drink wine and listen to classical while reading subs, it’s definitely a second energy drink and punk instead.

We’ve nearly been brought to tears over the support from all of you Bones in the Pile. Subs are coming in so fast we’re going to have to sleep-read to get through all of these!
