I set myself some goals for 2025, and the results are a bit of a mixed bag in terms of the numbers. Some I smashed, some I didn't come close! And there are lots of things I did that I didn't even plan.

Well, I found juggling so many things (including social media) as I found my feet as a #PhD student a little tricky, so for once I prioritised (go me!) But now I'm back, as I'm at a stage in my research where social media could be a useful tool. So hi, how are you? No really, how are you?

Received a copy of a book that I looked over a draft of the #tinnitus and #hyperacusis section. Unexpectedly, I have a mention in the acknowledgements - "research based feedback and [a] keen eye for detail". I think that sums up my professional self quite neatly! The book's a good read too!

I'm working on a service evaluation to find out how GPs deal with #tinnitus & #hyperacusis patients. In 2011, a similar study was presented at my first @tinnitusuk.bsky.social conference. Now I'm the one conducting the study! It feels slightly unreal, but also like I've come full circle.

48 #books read this year, and the best one was the last one. It's a staggering read. Beautiful, profound, transporting. In fact, probably one of the best books I've ever read. I was dubious about it, because on the whole, I don't get on with #Booker Prize winners, but this was glorious.
