What defines a “Cinema Camera” ? For me it has to have a raw codec for on board internal recording. Not just a way to do it externally. I’m talking to you Sony FX30. Trying to get clean keys etc. with an .mp4 or .mov just doesn’t cut it. #postchat #postsky #vfx

The #Severance S2 Dolby Vision look on my LG C3 Apple TV is incredible. Clean as a whistle. No added grain or old lens artifacts. I love that. Not a fan of forced filters, noise etc. trying to emulate nostalgic film looks. It really plays well with the creative. Great #vfx too! #postchat

Inclination is king when matching plates at different locations. Focal length, height etc. start with a locked inclination, don’t tilt to find the shot. Crab left or right or up and down a bit. Triangulate to desk edge will set where the centre of lens and the sensor plane should be. #postsky #vfx

I’ve noticed so many shots in tv commercials that stutter and jump. Clearly they are speeding up the shot but not using some kind of optical flow. Probably just blended or nearest frame. It’s everywhere. Is this just laziness or do the online editors just not care.🤷🏼‍♂️ #postchat #postsky

Saw Nasferatu today on an IMAX screen. Looked and sounded great. Couple of dicey comps but generally really enjoyed it. The 1.66:1 aspect ratio gave it an old feel. They were not afraid of the dark. That’s what I love about laser IMAX. The blacks are black not mushy grey. #postchat #vfx
