Favourite books of 2025 (a bit late!) Although there’s really only 1 book in the pile- Elif Shafak’s newest book is a stand-above-the-rest sort of book. Loved it. 📚💙

Mondays are my day off, so today is the day I have space to reflect on the past week. And it feels like there is a lot to process. We started last week at Oasis decorating flags with messages of love and hope.

Looking forward to some craftivism next week at Oasis. We’re aiming to spread love & let everyone know they are welcome, belong, & are valued by decorating flags with messages of love & hope😍🥰 When they’re finished, they can be taken home or displayed on our railings.

I’ve been saving this book for when I have space to enjoy it properly- so pleased I did this weekend. Elif Shafak was already a favourite author, but this book is something else

Feeling so proud of my community at Oasis Hull today- how everyone came together to create our new mural to say that everyone is included and belongs here. And good to get some positive media coverage of community coming together when there is so much negativity in the news.

1st day back at work after my hols felt a bit hectic but really pleased I was able to make the Hull gathering event to celebrate our community & dream about the future. A good way to get back into work.

Finally finished the last Shardlake book. That’s a lot of reading but loved the characters and learning about history as I read 📚💙

Loved reading this- the conversation across faiths with lots of shared wisdom, mutual respect & shared joy through difficult times brings lots of hope. Now trying to put the learning about taking responsibility for finding my joy into practice despite all that’s going on in the world #booksky 📚💙

Starting my week by feeling grateful… For anonymous friends sending encouraging flowers (& non anonymous the week before 😀) For sunshine on my day off For coffee in the garden For special time with family For enough warmth to finally plant seeds Thank you everyone who makes me feel appreciated 😊

Well that was a good read- challenging yet strangely beautiful with themes of race, mental illness, objectification of people, horror of war, friendship and more. I’ll be thinking about it for some time 💙📚

Had a great afternoon with our team at Oasis Hull, the team from Bora Shabaa & Martin from the Uni, taking time out to get to know each other, learn more about each other's work, & think about what connects us. So good to reflect, think about our ethos and values and see how we connect with others.
