ok understandably everyone keeps comparing Superman to Man of Steel or even Fantastic Four but I think the best comparison is actually to Thunderbolts. The movies have a lot of parallels, including a team-up of misfits to [spoilers].

Point is, you can work as hard as you like to write a great book, but whether it gets bought by a publisher *and* whether it gets bought in numbers by the public is in the end very much in the lap of the gods. I appreciate nobody wants that to be the case. But it is. Sometimes it's just luck.
