Ghost in the Shell visuals over the years really honed in the cyberpunk dystopia aesthetic. Science Saru going back to the manga and softening the vibe is an adjustment, but I as a GitS fan, am completely fine with it. I'm even expecting them to give us a goofy Motoko Kusanagi.

What I thought of Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise in a nutshell. It is the completely insane continuation to the series that answers the question of 'What happens when zombie idol girls face-off aliens?'. So worth the cinema watch.

Isekai Office Worker is good fantasy isekai romance. It's funny, it's got the serious fantasy worldbuilding and most importantly it's got budding romance that doesn't involve teenagers. Who cares if it's yaoi? I don't, and I'm a cishet guy.

Not that Journal with Witch (Ikoku Nikki) needed a 3 episode test, but its 3rd episode seals why it's such a good slice-of-life drama. That said, I relate to Makio's baggaged stoicism a lot, especially when I reflect on how often I with death, and I how handled my father's passing.

My favourite anime romances always have those things that makes them unorthodox. You and I are Polar Opposites is no exception because it's a story about being comfortable with what's different and enjoying that which makes the other unique. Rules be damned.

It's probably just me but I appreciate juxtaposition of having episodes of Oshi no Ko and Tamon's B-Side air on the same day.

I see a lot of posts talking about how Tamon's character is especially hilarious, but episode 3 of Tamon's B-Side was a hard watch simply because I know exactly what it's like to have social anxiety and deal with a toxic work colleague. It triggered some very bad memories.

Moved up to the big boys of fountain pen. The Asvine V800 is well regarded as one of the best fountain pens of 2025. A large cigar shaped vacuum filler of a chonker, I finally get why this class of pen is a mainstay if you write a lot. And I have been a whole lot lately.

Kaya-chan isn't Scary is not really that scary, at least compared to other recent horror anime like Mieruko-chan or Dark Gathering. I remember from the manga that it takes a while for the creep factor to really hit because it ties into the story plot. Just enjoy the ride.

I wouldn't say watching 5 shows today is a feat because they are all enjoyable, but I'm saving Kaya-chan for tomorrow with my daughter because she does like my choices when it comes to horror anime (she likes Dark Gathering as much as I do).

You and I are Polar Opposites is a great slice-of-life rom-com where you won't be getting 12 episodes of will they/won't they because the extroverted girl straight up confesses to her introverted crush right from the start. I am here for this sort of refreshing comedy.

From the very first episode, In the Clear Moonlit Dusk is straight up seishun shojo romance between a masculine looking girl and an ikemen. I'll roll with that because this is the kind of story that wins people over through the charm of the characters rather than an actual plot.

What is with these yaoi isekai this season? The first episode of A Gentle Noble's Vacation Recommendation is pretty decent too. Much more chill fantasy. God forbid it turns out to be slice-of-life as well. That would really seal the deal on me loving it.

I haven't really sat down to watch Dark Fantasy anime recently because there were a lot of grimdark edgy ones with poor writing (Redo of Healer, Shield Hero etc). Sentenced to be a Hero might make me look up a few, including Clevatess which I heard was pretty decent.

I am not entirely sure how a how about torture can work as a wholesome slice-of-life work comedy, but it just feels wrong to be amused by this at this era of our lives.

I think it was nice that they put an In Memoriam dedicated to Hisaya Nakajo, in the first episode of Hana Kimi. She passed away in 2023. Hopefully the rest of the production does her work proud.
