Finished my first needle felted landscape! 😁 It's called "The Lake" and I did it on linen. So fun! Can't wait to do more, and maybe mix wet felting with it! Took a needle felting class today, and made a cute little mousie! Learned how to wet felt the tail, which was a great tip, plus how to make the head and body out of one piece of wool, then soft sculpting it, instead of making separate components. Love that technique! 😁🥰 #needlefelting #handmade

I decided to paint today, but can't stop thinking about felting! 🫠

I spent all day at a wet felting workshop and it was so fun!! Plus quite a physical workout. lol I can't wait to do it again! 😁 I'll post a pic after I embellish it a bit more. It lends itself well to my painting style because it's so expressive, and the colours are 🤩!

Building complex layered backgrounds is relaxing and fun! I love the moodiness of this! It ended up being a super colourful piece, but revisiting this WIP photo is making me feel like trying something more moody and mysterious, with a more subdued palette than my usual, for a challenge. 🙃☀️

I had such a nice time at the local arts council open house tonight! I met some lively and lovely people, had great conversations and signed up for a wet felting landscape class that I think will suit my painting style perfectly! I’m looking forward to trying it out. Textile art fascinates me! 😊☀️

Making collage papers with paper towels. I hand dyed these with acrylic inks, but they were used in the kitchen, as I rarely throw them out unless they are really soiled with food. I think it's done. It's weird, even for me. 😜😆 But I love the colours and shapes and can't stop looking at it! It makes me feel happy and intrigued. I name every painting, and some are definitely challenging!

Exploring circles with stencils, china marker, liquid and high flow acrylics, paint pen, and heavy body acrylic. So many layers, as it is a repaint over something that wasn't working. A relaxing-to-do abstract. Might keep it, might paint over again. Just winging it, really!

Good day to do art outside, hanging out on my deck with my girls! 😊☀️🥰 Got the pastels out today, as it's too breezy to work with my acrylics. It's a semi-new to me medium, but I'm enjoying experimenting my way into it! Even joined a pastel club which has been fun!

Flashback to that time 14 years ago when I was first getting into mixed media, and I painstakingly cut out and stuck on all those little triangles made out of pre-coloured watercolour paper! 😜 The hills are fabric, and some of the flowers are stick on rhinestones. Did the plastic wrap thing too!😁

It's very much like the old IG, with a profile full of photos, which is fab! Also fab is that it automatically transferred my Bluesky posts, follows, and followers over so I'm not starting from scratch! 🤗
