A LAN party in 2002 wasn't a real LAN party until somebody broke out a case of Bawls. This stuff tasted like bottled Skittles. It was delicious.

One of my favorite parts about repairing arcade machines is being able to pull out at least a little bit of carpentry skills on it. My Daytona USA machine had a broken corner when I got it. Instead of using a bunch of Bondo, I just cut the thing and made a replacement. It turned out decent!

This is in my basement right now and it makes me oh so happy.

31 years ago today, the Sega Saturn made landfall in the US. To this day, it is still one of my favorite consoles.

I know it wasn’t as groundbreaking as the original, but Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 is still one of my favorite games.

The first TV I played NES on didn't even have a remote and to turn the channel I had to turn a physical dial, which only had 13 channel options.

Just remove those cabinet doors and bask in it...

I feel like April Fool's Day is basically ruined at this point because the world is such a shit show that things that used to be comically absurd are now everyday occurrences. 😒

So many came later, and so many were technically better, but Dune II is still one of my favorite RTS games of all time.

The whole push to use AI to make games look "better" doesn't make sense to me. AAA games look great right now, and in the past 10 years I've never thought, "Oh, I wish this great game looked better." The days of pushing graphics as a selling point are over. We want gameplay and story.

Bad News Baseball is still one of my favorite baseball games. The mechanics of the game just feel right and it's so much fun to watch Mr. T give you a high-ten after a homerun. There are updated ROMs with updated players, so I can play as the 2016 Chicago Cubs. :D #retrogaming #NES

I know I'm 10 years late to this party, but I can't get enough of Critical Role. Also, it may be controversial, but I do miss Tiberius Stormwind...from Draconia! He was a fun character. That said, I just finished the Briarwood campaign and it was epic. #criticalrole #d&d

There was just something so magical about having TWO Sonic cartoons going at the same time when I was a kid. Saturday mornings used to kick ass. Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog was especially great, as Sonic was voiced by Jaleel White (Urkel himself!)

Might be the first time I ever agreed with a Nintendo lawsuit.

Goldeneye physics were on point.

So sad to hear of Dan Simmons' passing. The Hyperion Cantos are my favorite book series of all time. Dan was an incredible story teller and educator. We lost one of the great ones.

This is the era of #Sega that defined me as a gamer. I had a Saturn at home with most of these games and the arcade in the movie theatre near me had Daytona and House of the Dead. It was such a great time to be a young gamer. #retrogaming

Got both sides of the Daytona USA machine back together. (May be the first time they’ve been fully assembled in over a decade or two.) I still have some work to do to get cab 1 working properly, but it’s getting close! Saved them from being scrapped. #arcade #retrogaming

Spent the whole day assembling this back together after doing a full tear down and cleaning/repair. Added a 32” curved LCD to match the other twin cab. Just some final touches to go!

I'm knee deep in this Daytona USA twin cab restore. First one is done, but now I'm working on the second cabinet which has all original parts. Cleaned up the racing wheel panel and had to do a bunch of cleaning on the gear shift. It's coming along!

I really wish I still had my big blue tray of floppies. So many memories were saved on those, including a VBasic game I made that was actually kind of fun.

On Friday we lost one of the greatest minds in gaming. The godfather of Sega's consoles. From Genesis through Dreamcast, he led R&D for Sega and took on the mighty Nintendo in the 90's.

My travel game lately has been New Super Mario Bros. After months of on and off gameplay I finally finished it. I beat it on the DS long ago and found it just as fun the second time around.

I literally started Streets of Rage the other day and immediately did this by accident. Some things never change... #retrogaming
