First day in 🇪🇨 and the rain forest is now living up to it’s name! We saw 30 species of Hummingbird and 4 species of Antpitta and I haven’t totalled up the Tanagers yet!This is an Equitorial Antpitta (formerly Rufous).

We really enjoyed Inspector Morse: House of Ghosts this afternoon at Norwich Theatre Royal. A haunting tale that worked very well on stage.

A great day on St Agnes, with the Troy Town ice cream the obvious highlight. Some nice birds as well including Hoopoe, Spotted Sandpiper and American Pipit.

I only see White-speck when on holiday on the Isles of Scilly. This one was found sheltering from the wind near Porth Hellick.

Two new Sallow in the garden (the one on the right overnight and the other a couple of days ago) making it a remarkable 9 species this year. 🍋🍋

Dusky-lemon Sallow was new in the garden yesterday. I really like Autumn moths.

A few migrants in the garden last night, the best being Toadflax Pearl (new for me). Also Olive- tree Pearl, Dark Sword-grass, Rush Veneer, L-album Wainscot and 16 European Corn-borer (an increase).

A new colony of Heath Rustic was found this morning on a local heath. The 6 moths trapped doubled the number of previous Essex records!
