gosh, i'm only realizing now how many wonderful new people i've met this year... it already feels like i've known some of you for years. that's probably been the best thing about this year for me! hopefully next year i can meet even more people, and hold the friends i already have even closer.

Being colorblind is so strange. On the one paw, I can't deny there's something there; I'm reliably unable to pick out the numbers from the dots in tests for red-green colorblindness. On the other paw, I can't relate to the purported impacts of colorblindness in my day-to-day life at all

i ran into a programming issue the other day where my parser was giving me garbage data when reading some text files but not others, despite them on the surface being identically formatted. luckily i knew a very specific quirk of windows which allowed me to identify the issue and fix it quickly but—

i think it's worth it for everyone who works with computers to learn some basic coding. i just finished a data entry task which my manager has been working on for years in 15 minutes, using 17 lines of node.js
