Had an amazing day at Burrow Beach in Sutton! Coastwatch coordinators from Dublin, Louth, Meath, Fingal, and Dun Laoghaire all met up to get an early start on the surveying season! At low tide the incredible biodiversity of the intertidal zone became clear, from mussels & oysters to crabs & eels!

Our Achill Summer School ended with a celebration of Seagrass! Thursday morning, Coastwatchers, Achill locals, and Marine and Policy experts joined together to discuss its importance. Later on, the crew confirmed the health of locally discovered seagrass beds. Thank you to all who joined us!

The coastwatch crew took the kayaks down to shore from Achill Outdoor Education Centre, after we surveyed the shore during low tide. We found a wide range of seaweed, shellfish, and coastal plants! Thanks again to Achill Outdoor Education Centre!

Yesterday at Keel Beach, Achill Island, coastwatchers and locals joined together to construct a fenced path for beach go-ers. Led by Kevin Lynch, geomorphologist at University of Galway, Karin Dubsky, founder of Coastwatch, and Mick Kane from the Achill Island Outdoor Education Centre.
