I have addiction problems. So when I was prescribed various medicines to help with the kidney stone, I turned down the Hydrocodone, in favor of the bare minimum. My mom got pissed because she wanted to have it on hand if she needed it.

I mistakenly put myself in the category of people I had assumed were my equals when they were obviously superior.
