and I just found clouds like AWS, GCP, Digital Ocean and Oracle pass packets with a non TCP/UDP number in the network header in their private network. This is not unsurprising given the network virtualization with middlebox features and good to see unosssified cloud networks.

My flat is between Bellevue and Redmond with a light rail station right downstairs. Funny thing is, it's easier to shop in Downtown Redmond than in Downtown Bellevue, because the Redmond station drops you right in the middle of Redmond, while the Bellevue one is kinda the side of the real downtown.

Prism (NSDI'21) was great to bypass L7 proxy with TCP connection migration, but hard to deploy as it needs a programmable switch. XO (NSDI'26) removes this barrier and is applicable to real apps, nginx and Ceph!

Grateful for the recognition of SMT! Deep appreciation to
@michioh.bsky.social
for being the best supervisor ever, who helped make all this possible. SMT is an encrypted, message-based transport protocol. Details in our IEEE S&P'26 paper (

2025 was a game-changer year for me, and my PhD has never felt this close. I visited so many places, reconnected with old friends, met amazing new friends across the world, got my first ever publications and citations. And I am already super excited for 2026! 🚀☕️🧑💻

A random magnet I bought at airpot in Portugal in a hurry, I asked the checkout lady what it means but I didn’t hear clearly. Today I am organizing my backpack and asked ChatGPT what that means. ChatGPT says it means “No bad thing lasts forever, and no good thing lasts without end.”

I really enjoy the Cosener's conference even if I look a bit stressed at the time. I'm very happy with the community we have built here.
