I think it's one of those things where you either pick it up real fast and it's incredibly intuitive, or you don't and it's a goddamn nightmare, and there's very little in between. People in the first group of course love the analogy and don't get why the second group doesn't.

Programming's a lot like that too in my experience tbh, when teaching people it either clicks pretty fast how program flow works, or it just *does not* and they have a VERY hard time intuiting what the hell is going on at all.
