I looked at the forecast for North Carolina this week and Do Not Want. I would much rather stay home and make actual progress on unpacking the house but there's no choice. Sigh.

I am finally free of jury duty - I actually got seated on a jury this time. It was an interesting view into the process and I do not regret doing it but also as a conflict-avoidant person with strong opinions deliberations were the worst.

I am attempting to make the brain make words for my auction submission. It uh. Doesn't want to participate.

I have made three phone calls today but also learned that I have 13 screws in my skull and actually finally read the operative report from my surgeon from 3 years ago.

I mean, I do get why at this point the tarp is probably needed for the protection of individual construction workers but also boooooo.

If after all of this they wrap the scaffolding with white plastic so we can't see the removal I'm gonna be so sad. :(

All my medals are finally hung up on the medal racks. AND one of the hallway art pieces is up too. I will RSVP to the neighbor's wine thing and then probably finish folding the towels for the guest bathroom and go get ready for bed.

Not the most productive day I have ever had but it has been at least *somewhat* productive? The beds all have clean sheets, the guest bathroom is now a little nicer, and I'm trying to get my crafting table cleared off so I could finish the top of it.

IT'S SO PRETTY.

The movers had same-day availability so my treadmill is getting into the gym TODAY. Which means I will be able to do my first run on it. (I did a short test in the garage and I already love it so much.)

I need to make myself go run but this headache is bullshit.

I DID get him to the start line healthy and he got across the finish line just under 24 hours later, marking his first completion of the race in his third try. In related news, I am mostly better but tired of being a creature of mucus.

I was HOPING this was just allergies but alas. The current plan is to mask in the house, sleep in a different room, and avoid the husband as much as possible to avoid getting HIM sick before his big race this weekend.

I don't know what I was thinking when it came to scheduling a run on the calendar today.

"Yesterday was brutal so today is just a rest day." Also today: shit, I have to write my monthly report and also the 4 e-mails to various volunteer groups from this weekend.

Yesterday featured approximately 38,600 steps and the kayaks did not crowd out the chute, I am counting this as a success. Also someone said I looked like I was 30, not 40, so I take those wins.

I suspect my mother has no appreciation of the level to which I have NOT infodumped on them about the geysers of Yellowstone.

Tonight's stitching soundtrack (now that I have pulled out all the shit I messed up) is the TV coverage from the 1999 Bridge Creek tornado and uh. I'm not terribly impressed.

I need to figure out where to set up my lava lamps (yes, I still have more than one). I unpacked 3 boxes today, including two of my lamps.

I managed to direct my parents to the right spot where they were able to see Grand erupt pretty much right after walking up so I'm feeling pretty good. Also jealous but you know.

My childhood house has officially sold (closing happened today) and I have to sort out my feelings, I guess.

The weather station at Old Faithful is reporting data again after being out for more than a month and right now that is the happiest thing for me. (I'm quietly hyperventilating because we are going to be short volunteers for next weekend.)

The boat is back in the garage. The meeting is done. I'm getting that uploaded to Youtube to send out to my volunteers who couldn't make the meeting and then I just need to do weights.

The husband wants me to relax beyond the things I absolutely have to do the rest of today. Unfortunately one of those things is "hosting a meeting in about an hour" and as such there is zero relaxing right now.

Two and a half more weeks and then I can be a lump for at least a day. I just need to make it two and a half more weeks.

I have tested the Zoom set up (bless my sister for showing me all the things I need to turn off) and sent out the invite for tomorrow. I need to write two more e-mails (3?) and see what parts where included in the new closet. I should hang it but.

I am attempting to draft the slide show for the volunteer orientation meeting on Wednesday (the one I am giving, not the one I am attending because that is NEXT Wednesday) and lolsob.

I thought the closet stuff was going to arrive today but no, it's tomorrow. So I will go move some more boxes around in the hope that upstairs is presentable tomorrow because downstairs won't be.

I have the desire to do some fun things today, which is why I have cleaned up the living room, unpacked at least one box, washed and ironed and then rewashed my cross stitch because of color bleed during the ironing (I got it out) and now am sitting trying to find oomph for my run.

The husband is out for a 6 hour row today. My calendar calls for 90 minutes of running and then more work in the garage and unpacking and maybe getting my cross stitch washed and ironed for framing.

I wrote a Google form for my volunteers to fill out and included one statement that we do our best to move people around and make sure they get to see the finish but we can't promise things. I embedded an instruction to reply with the cheese option instead of understood. At least 80% of people did.

I have mounted the shoe holders in the closet which are mostly to hold various running things for me. The shoe rack will come later tonight. I should go run but at this point there is not time to do it before we have to leave for tonight's dinner meeting so.

I have drafted the two e-mails to go out to volunteers tomorrow but as my pre-reads caught multiple typos I will reread them in the morning before pushing send. Next on the list: writing the personal note to mail to my parents at their new address (for DMV address verification).

I pulled everything off the guest bed today, found the sheets and duvets, and remade it, then piled clothes back on it and assessed how much space I need in the closet. Closet components are now ordered.

The table has seen progress, a load of laundry is done, and I've gone through a box of things (and found a missing pair of headphones!). Still more to go, but probably the next thing is bringing a bunch of things downstairs.

The garage is now reasonably close to unpacked, so tomorrow I will work on upstairs and see how far that gets. There's like 2-3 boxes and then the dining table needs to be cleared off. One box of clothes left to unpack.

It turns out that my mother-in-law is apparently going to go ahead with hip replacement surgery at 86. I learned this because they apparently turned down moving into an independent living facility (which they barely qualify as independent) because it would be too close to the surgery.

This is why I want the treadmill already, dammit. Today is 30 minutes and I have about an hour of sunlight left but working the oomph up is ...more challenging.
