November 12: Week 47: Day 1: Contemporary Genre Tapestry of the Second Born was the oldest of the first five books published by Tagonist Knights Publishing. Humanity faces Armageddon, faced with an opportunity for redemption. Angels influence the fate of a select group that must have the world.

Dryad influencing a room full of aliens with her empathic abilities to get them to all dance in unison, including Lexia who was about to warn her that they needed to leave as "What does the FOX say?" By Ylvis plays as missing scene in Parallax's Paradox makes me smile every time I hear this song. 😂

Finished the latest draft for book 2. Needs another pass through to trim the extras. Now onto book 3 which is going to be interesting with a unique approach to structure and storytelling. It will feel like this gradually suffocating feeling of being trapped and up against a clock counting down.

When I wrote the novel, Tapestry of the Second Born, it was meant as a warning... Not a blueprint on how to destroy the world... Guess I should have been more specific to the global leaders... 😐

November 11: Week 46: Day 7: Romance Genre Twin Flame is a unique reading experience. Two stories with many parallels, occuring at the same time. A singer on one, a dancer in another. At times they even interact with one another. Gemini, the Tagonist Knight of romance books, is involved throughout.

I get it. I suppose. An early draft dedicated ten pages per antagonist to reveal just how vile they were. Each based off a real world billionaire who is exploiting millions for their own narcissistic greed. It became exhausting... I am glad I am cutting 30+ pages down, maybe even cut it completely.

I love this stage if editing. When I am meticulously going through each page editing out small bits and pieces here and there to get a refined story, cutting away the unnecessary stuff, adding strength when needed. I am currently on page 263 and still need to cut another 38 pages. It's so much fun!

I am trying to feature a follower each day. Ran out of time yesterday, so this for Monday. With that said... Thank you to @charliedeltawrites.bsky.social who lurks in the background liking Tagonist Knights Publishing postings. The symbol used on the account which is on their book is mesmerizing. 😁

November 10: Week 46: Day 6: Romance Genre The novel grew out of two older ideas, refined over several drafts, before being revealed as a journey of two souls that crossed paths as if by destiny. Yaretzi's narrative is a heartbreaking, beautiful story of self-discovery and personal growth growth.

I used the name Xennial for a species of advanced humans that are responsible for a Dyson Sphere, creating a quantum singularity, nearly destroying our reality, and has ties to Lexia's mother on the Sunfire Chronicles. ☺️

I didn't know they ever met. Legends in children's programming. Reading Rainbow and Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. 😍

On page 250 and still have 56 pages or so to cut. Going to remove the gratuitous scenes involving the three central antagonists that reveals their dark desires to showcase how vile they are but I think it detracts from the story. I am enjoying the interplay of personalities among the protagonists.

My breath caught in my chest when I saw this. It's like Bob Ross standing next to Mr. Rogers. These two men are legends in inspiring the world. Reading Rainbow and Blue's Clues resonants in the souls of many.

First power outage of the season. Lasted about 2 hours. Considering there wasn't even a major storm, this does not bode well for the rest of the year.

I love seeing kids who have never seen snow before, experience it for the first time. Two families from San Diego, California was visiting the are and when it began snowing cir the first time this season, they ran outside with glee. They absolutely loved it. 😍

Question. Is comparing the actions of corporate greed to children breaking their toys rather than sharing them with others and analogy or a metaphor or something else?

November 9: Week 46: Day 5: Romance Genre Deadly Beloved is a sequel to Heart of Ice featuring the story of Mina and Oliver years after they became a couple. It is equally a sequel for Queens Court, featuring Alice and Hoven. Logan, Kimberly, and Penelope from Eye of the Beholder make a cameo.

Have you lost a significant amount of work due to a computer or human error? I swore I saved my work yesterday. This morning the progress is gone. I have to start over, retracing my steps in fixing 20 pages worth of work. I got to tell myself that I can do it better this time, that why it happened.

It is difficult to choose just one person to thank for their support each day. @summeroakes.bsky.social has been a supporter of Tagonist Knights Publishing for a long time now and we appreciate them being with us along this journey for so long. Thank you for showing your support and kindness. ☺️

On page 221. Momentum is seriously slowing down. The easier stuff to cut is nearly gone. I still have to take out another 73 pages or so. I feel like there is at least one older scene I can remove from the first pass. Some of the upcoming scenes involving the antagonists doesn't add anything either.

November 8: Week 46: Day 4: Romance Genre In a Heartbeat is a science fiction romance. The central part of the story is two people who find one another because one of them, Felicity, travelers back in time. She then saves Christopher's life by bringing him back with her into the future. True love!

On page 211. Already down to 80 pages left I need to cut. This story is so thick with so much happening. It's incredible. It is a challenge to bring focus to character development and not sacrifice plot. I love the focus on Zeta, this being her story primarily with an ensemble cast around her.

On page 202. Still need to cut roughly 99 more pages. Running out of stuff that will be easy to cut due to it being moved to the next novel. I think I know at least one scene I could remove that don't help the larger narrative that I kept in the first pass through. I want to keep the focus on Zeta.

November 7: Week 46: Day 3: Romance Genre Queen's Court was published as a sequel to Heart of Ice focused on Oliver's sister, Alice. The theme of a person holding up an object continued into this book cover. The word court holds a double meaning, a royale entourage or to pursue romantic intent.

I'm not sure if this unique approach of the antagonists being mentioned and their influence upon the world is evident but never once actually seeing them in person or them showing up in a scene will work. Often the greatest threats to our world we never actually see. We shall see. 😁

November 6: Week 46: Day 2: Romance Genre Eye of the Beholder tells the tale of two artists, one a world renowned for his lifelike works in galleries, the other a globally known comic book creator. Future publications reveal this novel is set in the same world as the Noble Souls Trilogy.

I made it to page 191 and shaved off yet another ten pages. Down to 410. So far, so good. Thankfully I am cutting portions that will fit into the next book. What is fascinating is each novel on the series feels like a genre. The first is fantasy 🧙🏻, the second scifi 🤖, the next will the horror. 🧟

November 5: Week 46: Day 1: Romance Genre Tagonist Knights Publishing began this genre with Heart of Ice. It was meant to be a stand alone novel that eventually expanded into a trilogy and two other novels connected to the same reality. The journey of Mina and Oliver began in this beautiful story.

I am on page 180 and I still have to cut 120 pages and figure out what I am going to do with this book. Is it a love story between Zeta and Khaalida? Is it a scifi involving a virtual reality? Is it good versus evil battle against people trying to ruin everything due to their greed? All the above?

Authors. Do you ever start using words in real life that you originally used only in your work? I just started to think about the word trousers for some odd reason. I never use trousers in real life, but I have a feeling someone in my books would. Alice, from the Noble Souls Trilogy, would do so. 😅

November 4: Week 45: Day 7: Fantasy Genre Deadly Haven is set in a city with a form of magic not found anywhere else in the world. It is tainted, killing a mage even before birth. Only here can machines use it as an energy source. It is rumored that deep below is a slumbering god about to awaken.

A twist in the novel, Seed of Earth, that as an author I didn't even see coming until I was writing the last 10 pages of the book. Everything was set up to find the Alchemist. She was a possible ally. Then, without warning, the Primordial Quaternity series would forever be changed because of Emma.

As an author I respect and care about every person I have written about. I think about fans if these individuals who care dearly about them as much I do. What may be a creation in the mind of someone else, is an inspiration to others that brings immense joy to them. Maybe even the world. 😊

November 3: Week 45: Day 6: Fantasy Genre The second novel in the Age of Shadows set, Silhouette of the Moon, features a vampire sorceress. At one point she has to fight against an army of abominations swarming across the city. She is only one of two vampires that remained relatively human looking.

November 2: Week 45: Day 5: Fantasy Genre Set in the world and after the events of the novel, Mystical Alliance, Knowing Gnowing revisits a city that feels more like a steampunk setting within a sword and sorcery realm. Magic and technology mingle leading to disastrous results with a time machine.

November 1: Week 45: Day 4: Fantasy Genre Magic takes many forms. For some, like a mage, it is a gift that they must learn to master over time. For a race of Human Born that can transform between dragon and human, magic comes naturally to them as breathing. They cannot be affected by magic spells.

October 31: Week 45: Day 3: Fantasy Genre In the two part Age of Shadows books, magic is invoked by those exclusively referred to as Sorcerers. Nathaniel, Sebastian, and Zoe encounter two communities filled with beings created by magic, and lamd devastated by demons created by the same energy.

October 30: Week 45: Day 2: Fantasy Genre In the realms of Mystical Alliance and Knowing Gnowing, magic users are all called wizards. In the Human Born series, they are referred to exclusively as mages. Magic and mages are prominent in the novel, Arcane Inheritance, with the descendant of Merlin.

October 29: Week 45: Day 1: Fantasy Genre The first fantasy novel published by Tagonist Knights Publishing is Mystical Alliance. It has elves, dwarves, gnomes, wizards, and a race is noble warrior minotaurs. The story is an adventure narrative as a group explore the world to find a way to heal it.

October 28: Week 44: Day 7: Horror Genre The Primordial Quaternity books are a supernatural series with many horror elements. The novel, Seed of Earth, begins with a demon that attacks a family. Quins is nearly killed by the spirit of a serial killer where his first victim helps stop this threat.

October 27: Week 44: Day 6: Horror Genre In the novel, Deadly Haven, the story begins with a man writing on parchment made from human skin using his own blood. Violent murder is common for a city fueled by the essence of a demonic god. A horrific life where most meet their end in grotesque ways.

October 26; Week 44: Day 5: Horror Genre In Silhouette of the Moon, psychic vampires are introduced. They are abominations that skitter across the ground like spiders. Victims mutate by losing their inner organs, eyes, ears, and mouth. They were created by a witch to avenge the death of her tribe.
