I’m so sick of respectability politics. (Which, by the way, won’t save you.) Unsurprisingly, both pieces were written by cis white men (we need to do better!), and Ben Appel is a “drop the T” gay traitor — when your book is praised by Julie Bindel, the company you keep is clear.

The Diversity Lounge / The Intersection at @officialpax.bsky.social is what made Boston Gaymers what it is today. The outreach and visibility it gave us were game-changing. Inclusive spaces in gaming are essential, and we need PAX to continue supporting them now more than ever.

As if this wasn’t already clear to anyone who’s been following the NYT over the last decade or so.

The gall. At the start of Pride month no less. They want to “acknowledge any hurt” — that’s like saying “I’m sorry you can’t breathe” to a person you have in a chokehold. You could easily end the hurt and drop the lawsuit. And they couldn’t even provide fucking ALT text.

I think @honeydavenport.bsky.social’s IML win is fantastic, as the leather community (like most LGBTQ+ groups) is getting queerer/less binary. But it sure has made a small, vocal group of people unhappy — mainly older white cis gay men — who are too stuck in the past to see our shared queer future.

I really want someone to write a cautionary tale about the excesses of right-wing influencers called “Clavigula”.

This is a very cool project that I may submit a few sentences for — all the work at @qtlibrary.org has really laid bare the number of queer book bans and reinforced the necessity of queer and trans voices, expression, and representation, especially for at-risk queer youth.

My work at @qtlibrary.org (and that of all of my fellow volunteers) gets more important by the day as public and school libraries (and librarians) face increasing hostility. Almost 40% of banned titles that @penamerica.bsky.social is tracking are likely targeted because of LGBTQ+ representation.

If you can, consider donating time or money to the @splcenter.org. Their work has been invaluable to keeping hate in check for over five decades, and this lawsuit is just another attempt by the administration to tear down everything standing in the way of a Christian ethnostate.

Spring has sprung! The daffodils in our front yard have exploded in the last 48 hours.

I was tabling for @qtlibrary.org at the MA School Library Association conference. It was encouraging to receive support and gratitude from so many librarians for the work we are doing, and likewise to be able to return that gratitude to educators who are on the front lines of book bans. #booksky

There is no ethical consumption under capitalism of any kind, but in this case, it is nearly quite literally the least you can do if you claim to care about trans people.

When I saw this headline, I thought “Do people not understand basic Newtonian physics vis-à-vis seasons?” And then I thought, horrified, “Of course people don’t understand basic Newtonian physics.”

Usually, I stand pretty united with my senators and congresswoman. In the case of COPPA 2.0, however, I cannot. The potential harm to LGBTQ+ youth, especially in this environment and under this administration, outweighs the potential benefits. @pressley.house.gov, please take care of our queer kids.
