Something’s not right at the heart of the UK co-op movement. We’ve watched with growing concern as Co-operatives UK, an organisation we’ve supported and worked alongside for years, struggles with what can only be described as a leadership crisis.

A well trusted and respected CEO is due to stand down. Robin Feith is to leave the BSA. This is a great shame as he's served as a beacon of hope. A man of principles who cared deeply about the BS and CU members. A great loss to the wider movement.

That's us put in our place. On of the team has just reminded us of the Doncaster Coop Society. Apparently they were one of the best performing societies of the late 60's. We'd love to have witnessed it.

Away from the UK. We've been quite concerned by the stock market in India. Indian coop banks could face serious stress if a crash leads to a crisis. A housing slowdown and funding pressure could create instability. Will the Bank of India step in if needed? How will already challenged banks respond.
