We've had a whirlwind start to 2026 at Glenside Hospital Museum. During our special "History in your Hands" event for National Lottery Open Week we welcomed over 800 visitors in just 2 days! This event gave visitors a rare chance to handle artefacts from our collection, as they learned about them.

You’ll hear us mention PoW! a lot going forward. So what does it mean? PoW! means Protect Our Wellbeing, and we are very grateful to have received funding for this initiative from National Lottery Heritage Fund to strengthen our organisation and preserve it for future generations.

A deep dive into our stores always unearths buried treasure. This week we discovered this gorgeous solid wood 22-inch cricket challenge shield 🏏 It’s charmingly crafted, right down to the minute details of grass, trees, the cricketer’s shoelaces and SCP (Stoke Park Colony) on the cricketer’s cap.

Our current exhibition will end in just a few weeks’ time, so don’t miss it! The perfect opportunity is during our🌟 Big Launch 🌟 (for our new project) on Sunday 23rd March. You’ll enjoy a lovely community atmosphere, tea, cake, badge making and a table top sale of curios alongside the artworks.
