I have been playing Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynched. It has completely reaffirmed my love for the Golden Age of Piracy. Blackbeard, Anne Bonny, William Kidd, Calico Jack, the history in these people alone is fascinating. I spent hours playing the first one in 2013. I anticipate the same.

Finished Lord of Blackthorne. I really enjoyed it. Given a decrepit castle as a reward for bringing down a traitorous Baron, Lord Blackthorne must repair the castle, and the relationships with the villagers of Blackthorne. Once he does, he is faced with an enemy from his past.

At the midway point of Lord of Blackthorne. It's definitely still tickling my Medieval history nerd self. It's not overly descriptive but still enough for me to see what's happening in my head. I am enjoying the relationship between Osga and Blackthorne. Definitely one I will recommend.

Finished the Ember Blade. Aren's family is loyal to the Krodan Empire. But, one day Aren's father is arrested and Aren and his friend Cade are sent to a prison camp. Attempting to escape they are helped by someone from the past. I enjoyed the twists in it. Next Sisters of the Lizard.

Making my way through the Ember Blade. I am enjoying it. But there's a couple of animal deaths which had me cringing. I don't know if I am the only one who does this but you can stab the crap out of a person but animals dying make me sad. I actively avoid animal killing quests in video games too

If this is anything like the Bone Raiders, I fully expect to cry, laugh, screech and throw it.

I decided to start the Ember Blade by Chris Wooding. It's the first book in the Darkwater Legacy. The blurb on the front calls it Lord of the Rings for the modern generation. I am only on chapter six but I am enjoying it. I think something exciting is about to happen. Adventure vibes are there

Finished the Will of the Many. While it started off slow, it absolutely picked up. I felt Vis's disappointment a few times. And it made me angry for him. There were definitely some sad parts and a few well that's just mean parts. Up next Heroes Die or A Fortress in the Eye of Time.

My dog is currently trying to catch a fly with his paws, it's very entertaining. Each time I look like I am going to try to catch it on the phone, he stops and looks offended.

My daughter is in Toronto right now staying in a hotel. She is on the phone right now and she said "I think I can see into an office suite" Her phone cut off and it sounded like she said "when you have a colostomy, you can see over there"

Okay why am I under a frost advisory in MAY?? Good time to wrap up in an electric blanket and read. About halfway through the Will of the Many. I like the relationship between Vis and Ulciscor. Thank goodness for the pronunciation guide. I don't know what to read next though.

Can't sleep.... The Will of the Many is proving to be as good as I thought it was going to be. It did start out a bit slow but it's picking up. I'm interested to see where it goes. Admittedly having some trouble with pronunciation so thank goodness for pronunciation guides.

So here's something interesting... I put the Bone Ships down. I just wasn't absorbing the words. I had a headache most of today, it started subsiding around ten. I am reading a different book which seems to be fine. I wonder if it's because my attention span was being hampered by the headache.

Finished the War of the Dwarves I loved the first in the series and similarly enjoyed this one. Something nefarious is happening to the Orcs that have consumed the Dark Water. On a March towards Girdlegard, they have the Dwarves in their sights. Next up The Bone Ships by RJ Barker

So many new Fantasy books are coming out in the next few months. Christopher Buehlman is releasing the Thrice Bound Fool in October. Blacktounge Thief was amazing. Jackson Ford is releasing Sisters of the Lizard in May (the Bone Raiders made me cry) I am so excited about this. I need more shelf.

Finished the Adventures of Amina El-Sirafi. Loved it. Being a gigantic pirate history nerd this was right up my alley. The writing was wonderful with some frequently hilarious dialogue. The struggle with who she was and who she is was prevalent. 2nd in the Dwarves or Empire of The Dawn next.

So I finished Ironbound. I enjoyed it but at the same time I found myself getting kind of bored. It's not the writing or the world or anything like that. I think I just don't like progression Fantasy. I will still recommend it for people who do enjoy it. Onto the Adventures of Amina El- Sarafi

Finished Of Bl00d and Fire last night. I loved it. Well except for the blasted ending because it was definitely a cliffhanger ending.( I liked the ending too) It kept me up until 3am while I freaked out about the incoming thunderstorm. Next up Ironbound bi Andrew Givler

Almost done of Blood and Fire by Ryan Cahill. I'm hooked. Especially because it's got dragons!! I am definitely interested in the next books in the series.

I am currently reading the Astral Library by Kate Quinn. I have cried, I have laughed and I utterly transfixed by this book. I can't put it down.

Finished Well of Darkness. It was great. Dagnarus will be King even if he is just a second son. And though it means d*ath for her, he also covers another's wife. As he grows his desperate need to fulfil his goals makes him do stupid sh*t(getting creative..word count) Next The Book of Three

Finished Dragons of Autumn Twilight. It was awesome. I giggled out loud lots of times at Fizban and I really want to spend time in the Vallenwood trees. They sound amazing. The suspense with the traitor was amazing too. Next up Grave Empire by Richard Swan.

Reading Dragons of Autumn Twilight which is my first Dragonlance novel. I am loving it. There's something in "band of friends" books for me. Maybe it's because I don't have a lot of friends that tickles my timbers. I got excited about the Unicorn too. I felt the reactions of the characters.

2025 at a glance: Left an extremely toxic work space where those that should have stopped the toxicity ignored, hid, or outright accused employees of lying to cover their abusive manager's behaviour Read a lot of books Discovered new authors Rediscovered old authors But I still h*te winter.

Finished Red Rising. I enjoyed it. But the pacing was much slower during the last few chapters. The ending pulled me back in. I definitely didn't expect that to happen. But I found myself skimming through pages as well. The second is on the TBR. Dragons of Autumn Twilight is up next.

Halfway through Red Rising. It's good, I am enjoying it. But it's definitely very Hunger Games-ish. I like the premise and how the main character is looking for vengeance by convincing people who he is vs who he really is. There are some parts that are draggy but I am enjoying it.

Finished Empire of Silence. A few pacing issues towards the end but still really good. Hadrian is sent away by his Dad, his mother hatches a plan that goes awry. On a distant planet, Hadrian must survive by any means necessary. While keeping his real identity a secret. Next Red Rising.

Almost halfway through Empire of Silence by Christopher Ruocchio. It's definitely Dune-esque. But I am enjoying Empire way more than I liked DUNE(I DNF DUNE) I like the tenacity of the main character. But I also felt sorry for him because of his parents. I am anxious to see where it's going.

Finished the Silverblood Promise. It was okay. Definitely some parts that felt Tamblyn and that I skipped over. But I did like the relationship between Flea and Lukan. I loved Flea's attitude and her sassy replies to Lukan. Still 3 stars. Empire of Silence by Christopher Ruocchio is next.

Finished Empire of The Damned. I am a sobbing, snotty, swearing mess. It's three a.m. and I am not sure if I will actually be able to sleep after this. As he says in his author notes "he doesn't believe in happy endings" Definitely a five star read and in the rightful spot for favourite book.
