Hard not to think about what the future could have been for Matt. He was unstoppable, and I was looking forward to the kinds of manga he'd be working on in five, ten, or twenty years. He had so many books he was passionate about, so much he wanted to share with others, and such an infectious energy.

Matt was the first person to give me an opportunity in the manga industry and for that I'll forever be grateful to him. But besides that, he was a really kind and altruistic person and you could feel his passion for manga. I'm really sad I'll never get to chat with him again...

Today, September 1st is Letterer Appreciation Day. Celebrated on Gaspar Saladino's birthday who was one of the greatest comic book letterers to ever pick up a pen. So, please appreciate the artistry of lettering which is more than just words on a comic book page.

speaking of portfolio, a while back i started creating a website to showcase my stuff that was fun and that i felt like reflected my personality a little. i haven't finished but i've been wondering if something simpler and more straightforward would be better after seeing others' portfolios...

been working on something that I'm very excited and thankful for eheh hopefully i can update my portfolio soon with some exciting stuff 🤫
